A Sunday morning call related to a fall victim had Arrowhead Joint Fire District EMTs responding to Miller Road, in New Philadelphia.

They responded around 9am and were advised through central dispatch that the 64-year-old male patient fell from a ladder while using a chainsaw and that he had been injured.

Medflight and Uhrichsville Fire Department paramedics were called due to the nature of the injury. Once on scene, according to Chief Steven Wright, the male patient was found to be seriously injured, with treatment provided and EMTs stabilizing the man. Uhrichsville EMS arrived shortly after to provide advanced life support treatment.

Wright adds that they received notices that Medflight was unable to respond due to weather conditions and the patient was transported to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital where he succumbed to sustained injuries. A name will not be released.
