Nick McWilliams reporting – A councilman in the city of New Philadelphia is stepping away after a year on the job.

Jim Seldenright, who was elected to serve in Ward 4, reportedly submitted his letter of resignation this week after changes to his job responsibilities, making him unable to fulfill council duties.

Council President Dom Kemp announced the resignation at a meeting on Thursday.

A successor will be selected by the Tuscarawas County Republican Party Central Committee at a later date, which will likely be by the end of January.
