Nick McWilliams reporting – The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported an increase in fatalities on roadways over the New Year’s reporting period.

A total of 10 fatalities, including five pedestrians, were reported between December 31st and January 3rd. That’s six more than last year over the same period.

Over 300 impaired driving arrests were made, as well as 115 distracted driving and 478 safety belt citations issued.

All told, a total of 12,306 incidents were reported by OSP.
