~ Atwood is hosting their 40th Fall Festival this weekend. A three-day festival, September 30 through October 2nd, is back at Atwood Lake Park, in Mineral City. The event will feature food, music, homemade crafts, hands-on displays, entertainment, and other exhibits. Cost is $5 per person with senior and veteran discounts applied. Children 12 and under are free.

~ Paving in Uhrichsville began this week and the administration office is asking residents to be mindful of signage. There will be “no parking” signs posted on some streets and the city will tow any vehicle not in compliance.

Streets being paved this week into next include:

  • Newport Avenue from Trenton Avenue to Holiday Avenue.
  • Indian Hill Road.
  • High Street from Oak Street to the end.
  • Bank Street from Oak Street to the end.
  • Wallace Street from Trenton Avenue to W. 1st Street.
  • Wallace Street from W. 1st Street to W. 4th Street.
  • 11th Street from Eastport Avenue to Uhrich Street.
  • High Street from S. Water Street to S. Uhrich Street.
  • Center Street from Trenton Ave to W. 1st Street.

~ The 14th Annual Volley for the Cure will be held October 1st. This will be held at Indian Valley High School as the Braves host the Claymont Mustangs. Middle School play will begin at 4pm followed by the freshmen and JV teams at roughly 5:30pm. After that, the varsity matchup will start at approximately 7pm. All proceeds will benefit the Susan Kimen Breast cancer Foundation.
