Mary Alice Reporting-

A portion of US 250, outside of Dennison, was shut down for roughly four hours Wednesday morning.

The two-vehicle crash occurred just after 5am, in Union Township, and emergency crews from Dennison Warrick Fire Department responded.

Also on scene, was the Ohio State Highway Patrol New Philadelphia Post and Sgt. Brian Hawkins explains the head-on collision happened when a 2002 Ford Ranger went left-of-center while negotiating a curve.

“Driven by a Derrick Easlick, of Scio. He was westbound on US 250 and struck a 2001 Ford F-350 that was hauling a utility trailer.”

Easlick was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office.

The length of the closure, says Hawkins, was due to the investigation and clean-up.

“Debris over the roadway and doing our crash reconstruction. There was quite a bit of oil debris that we had to try to get cleaned up.”

The driver and passenger of the F-350 were not wearing seatbelts but sustained minor injuries and were not transported.

Also on scene were the Ohio Department of Transportation, Keith’s Towing, and Jim’s Towing.

The crash is still under investigation.
