Nick McWilliams reporting – The Parklane Drive waterline project will officially fully wrap up by the spring of 2023.

New Philadelphia Service Director Ron McAbier said at a recent council meeting that in terms of construction work, crews have moved out of the area and the waterline portion has been completed.

He notes that the contractors, Diversified Engineering and Tuscon Incorporated, will be back when the weather breaks to button up the final portions of the work, which started in November.

“They have some housekeeping items for sure. All the reseeding will have to be done in the spring. Right now, they just put straw down to just basically keep the earth there. There’s a driveway that was high that needed grinded down, which was letting some water get into one of the lower driveways. That was addressed, and that will be done here in the next couple of months.”

McAbier says that the final walkthrough was completed last week, and the city was pleased with the work.

Additionally, a concrete patch that was used to cover the waterline on North Broadway Street will be grinded out in the spring, and replaced with a permanent patchwork of blacktop.
