Patricia Ann Muzechuk, age 89, of New Philadelphia, died early Thursday, June 10, 2021, while in the care of Community Hospice’s Truman House at New Philadelphia.
Born in Dover on October 4, 1931, Patricia a daughter of the late Chester and Bertie Davis Westbrook. She was a 1949 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and in 1951 married the love of her life, Thomas Muzechuk. The couple met while at Tuscora Park where Tom had pushed Pat into the pool and immediately rescued her by pulling her out. That wet encounter led to a wonderful marriage of 69 years.
Pat cared for the household and family duties as well as helping Tom run the office of his business, New England Construction. Pat was known for her love of gardening and her “green thumb” but was also an excellent golfer, having had three holes in one during her lifetime; one while golfing at Five Waters and two while in Florida. As a couple, they enjoyed traveling throughout the US and abroad and wintering in the Ft. Myers, Florida area but when in Ohio, her faith was nurtured at Otterbein United Methodist Church where she was a member.
In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by two sons, Thomas Muzechuk and Michael (Connie) Muzechuk all of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Erin Muzechuk, Megan Muzechuk, Benjamin (Kristen) Muzechuk and Emilee Muzechuk; two great-grandchildren, Donna and Lydia Muzechuk; a sister, Judy (Tom) Crilley of Mineral City and a brother, Jerry Westbrook and two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Westbrook and Dencie Muzechuk all of New Philadelphia as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a brother, William Westbrook and a sister-in-law, Judith Westbrook.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will be conducted by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
