Nick McWilliams reporting – Contractors will soon descend on Dover to kick off paving.

The 2022 paving season is slated to begin July 25th, which will include extensive work to the tune of roughly $750,000, announced Service Director Dave Douglas in April.

Interim Mayor Shane Gunnoe says that residents can expect work to begin on the north end, working southward.

Beginning on Walnut Street, between 23rd and 15th Street. Paving and profiling will move downtown on August 8th. That section is expected to take approximately a week and a half, weather permitting. During the paving and profiling process, we will close one-half of each street for the work.”

Gunnoe apologized for potential delays and disruptions to travel plans, and asked all residents to remain patient.

All vehicles are to be removed while streets are being addressed to speed up the process.
