Phillip D. Wolfe, 69, of Port Washington died at home surrounded by his family, Saturday, November 6, 2021.
He was born in Dennison on March 29, 1952, to the late Vernon and Mildred (Reichman) Wolfe. Phillip graduated from Indian Valley South in 1970, joined the U.S. Army, and served in Korea. Once discharged, Phillip attended Ohio State where he received his degree in Criminal Justice. He then went to work for the Tuscarawas County Sherriff’s Dept. as a Mounted Deputy, then for the village of Port Washington P.D. and the Tuscarawas P.D, from where he retired after nearly thirty years of service.
Phillip liked to show horses, go shooting, fishing with family, and if he wasn’t playing his guitar he was listening to music. He had a passion for flying, so much that he was in the process of building his own airplane. Above all though, Phillip enjoyed his family, friends, and taking care of the pets Chloe, Jasper, Onyx, and Max.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Charollett (Stull) Wolfe, whom he married March 20, 1997, five children: April (James) Marlatt, Lashawna (Rich) Jackson, Tiffany (Craig) Cline, Jaimee (Fiancé Noah Spahr) Wolfe, and Benjamin Wolfe; eleven grandchildren: Asia, Ava, Adrianna, Ayrabella, Lilliana, Logan, Brianna, Garreth, Marshall, Ethan, and Jade; and a brother-in-law Randy Goddard.
Also preceding in death are siblings and in-laws Vernon “Sonny” (Bev) Wolfe Jr., Linda (Gary) Edwards, and Patricia Goddard.
Services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Koch Funeral Home of Gnadenhutten, 244 N. Walnut Street, 44629 with burial and military honors following at Union-Salem Twp. Cemetery in Port Washington. Calling hours also at the funeral home will be Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and also on Friday for one hour prior to the services. Memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
