Mary Alice Reporting – The meaning of borders will be a big topic during a January 21st presentation featured by the Dover Public Library.
Historian and journalist David Mould will discuss his latest book, Postcards from the Borderlands, which encompasses travel, history, and culture.
There are many types of borders that will be looked at, during the virtual meeting, such as physically marked ones by posts or fences, those that are political or geographical; along with those set by treaties and surveys; as well as, borders with countries and communities like social and economic.
Maps will be a big part of the 6:30 pm presentation by Mould, who will look at the United States, Africa, South Asia, and “the world’s craziest border” between India and Bangladesh.
