Mary Alice Reporting – For the City of New Philadelphia, economic growth and additional income tax dollars were highlighted in 2022.
Mayor Joel Day will provide a full detailed report during his State of the City report, to be issued in February, but he has noted, in his recent council reports, positive accomplishments.
The city saw a collection of over $708,000 in additional income tax revenue for last year, which Day said was a positive economic indication thanks to added jobs through Battle Motors, other manufacturers, and small businesses.
Beyond the revenue, New Philadelphia enhanced services and quality of life by installing pickle ball courts, purchasing a new garbage truck, relocating fencing to make way for the construction of the Ohio and Erie Towpath Trail, and several waterline replacements were completed.
