Nick McWilliams reporting – OhioGuidestone has activated the Rapid Access Program in Tuscarawas County.

Already utilized in Medina, Wood, Hancock, and Lucas Counties, the implementation can provide immediate, non-appointment help when it comes to substance use disorders.

Residents in need of assistance can visit the OhioGuidestone Outpatient Center on Fifth Street in New Philadelphia between 9 a.m. and noon on Tuesdays. Those times are expected to expand as the program is more settled in.

One of the largest roadblocks on someone’s road to recovery can be waiting for appointments to address their needs, according to OhioGuidestone President and CEO Brant Russell in a release.

Treatment can begin that day, following a consultation with a nurse, and can include prevention help, peer recovery, psychotherapy, recovery housing, and more.
