Richard Eugene “Dick” Selzer, 78, of Mineral City, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Born April 30, 1943 in Dennison, he was the son of the late Earl Eugene and Margaret L. (Armstrong) Selzer.

Dick was a 1961 graduate of Dennison High School and an area resident for most of his life who proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Dick owned and operated his own business, Atwood Welding, Inc., for many years and had continued doing welding until his health prevented him. He was a member of the New Philadelphia Elks Lodge, enjoyed deer hunting and family fishing trips to Canada, and loved working around his house.

On January 21, 1990, Dick married Hallie (Greenlee) Selzer who survives him. He is also survived by children, Scott (Laura) Selzer, Al (Therese) Baker, Mike (Brandie Thacker) Baker, and Kim Baker; grandchildren, Rachael, Ryan, Joel, Jesse, Hannah, Kaitlin, Alice, Georgia, Rob, Drew, and Madison; sister, Helen (Nick) Moore; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Petrarca.

Rev. Carolyn Behrendt will officiate his funeral at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. His family request that all who attend wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
