Richard Wayne Bourne, 65, of Port Washington started his forever ride on Friday, September 3, 2021, at his home. He was born October 29, 1955, in Coshocton to the late Joseph Bert and Shirley Jane (Kenney) Bourne. He was a 1974 graduate of Indian Valley South.

Richard started delivering newspapers in Newcomerstown at the age of 8. He then started working for local farmers in 1965 when his family moved to Gilmore. At 15 years old, he began working for Gardner’s Saw Mill. Richard then began his career in the oil field when he started working for Echo Drilling in Gnadenhutten in 1976, where he put in 30 years alongside a special co-worker, Mike Ebersbach. He worked for a year and a half for L & M Mineral before he had his stroke in 2010 that left him permanently disabled.

 

Richard is survived by his daughter Christina (Carey) Irwin of Uhrichsville, daughter Vicki Bourne (T.J.) of the home, and son, Terry Bourne of ND; one special granddaughter, Alie Watson of the home; grandsons, Anthony, Stephen and Gabriel Troyer of Scio, Justin Bourne of New Philadelphia, Michael, Brandon, and Jacob Irwin, as well as several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe (Nancy) Bourne, Danny L. Bourne, and Jerry Bourne, all of Port Washington; one sister, Alana Bourne of Port Washington; and special nephews, Charles Parcell, Zack Fogle, Johnny Bourne; several other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
