Mary Alice Reporting –

Multiple first responders were on scene Monday morning in response to a tractor-trailer crash that closed both lanes of a Dennison roadway.

The Dennison Police Department indicated that the semi’s trailer flipped over when the driver slightly went off the right side of Johnson Avenue into a small ditch that the operator couldn’t recover from.

Dennison Firefighter/EMT Kyle Milligan explained the semi did snap a power pole in half, which caused over 280 AEP Ohio customers to be briefly without power as units worked on scene.

“We have Jim’s Towing here, we have ODOT, AEP. Jim’s Towing is working to lift the truck and get it flipped back over and then AEP is going to coming and repair the pole and all the lines and hopefully get power restored.”

Power was restored for the remaining customers by 2 p.m.

Milligan added that the driver was not injured.

All emergency crews were on scene for several hours which had SR 800, in Dennison, completely closed from Taylor Avenue to Pleasant Valley Road. The road reopened around 2:25 p.m.
