Mary Alice Reporting –

A Friday afternoon fire appears to be accidental in nature but it required a lot of manpower.

New Philadelphia Fire Department was called out at 1:13pm to the property at 2179 Hicks Avenue.

Captain Matt Graham says that they had mutual aid from seven fire departments and the blaze was contained to a seven to 10-acre parcel.

This spanned several properties and only wooded area received damage, with no injuries reported. Crews were finishing up roughly three hours after the initial call.

Graham reminds all residents that Ohio is still under a burn ban, between 6am to 6pm, for the rest of November and to never have a fire on windy days.
