Shirley J. Smith, 80, of Newcomerstown, died Sunday, September 12, 2021 at her home. She was born August 3, 1941 in Coshocton to the late Harry and Alice (Durben) Wynn. Shirley was a graduate of Newcomerstown High School, class of 1960. She attended Wesley Community Chapel of Peoli. Shirley married Ralph J. Smith, who passed on February 17, 2019. Shirley was a preacher’s wife, veteran’s spouse, Sunday School teacher, chauffeur to her kids and grandkids, and avid bowler. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and board games, and Black Friday shopping with her sister and daughters.
Shirley is survived by her children, Shari (Jeff) Grewell of Port Washington, Ralph Doug (Karen) Smith of Cabot, AR, Mike (Rene) Smith of Dublin, John (Sharon) Smith of Cambridge; grandchildren, Lindsey (Caleb), Megan (Airic), Kayli (Jacob), Chloe, Zachary, Marcella, Emily, Jessica, Joshua, Kimberly, Daniel, James, Devon, Ashlei, Kelsey (Hunter); great-grandchildren, Adan, Amara, Asher, Harper, Noah, Leah, Presley, Alyvia, Sophia, Zelliana, Zacharia; sisters, Beverly (George) Fenton, Elizabeth Johnson, Harriett (Brian) Little; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcella Smith; grandchildren, Stephen, Rachel; great-grandchild, Joseph; brother, Ronnie Wynn.
Services will be Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Addy Funeral Home of Newcomerstown, with Pastor Jay Rock officiating. Burial will take place at Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens on Monday at 10 AM. Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 5:00- 8:00 PM at Addy Funeral Home.
