A storm came through the area Wednesday night and a tornado has been confirmed.

The National Weather Service released a preliminary survey result for the event that impacted Shreve in Wayne and Holmes counties.

NWS Cleveland’s survey team and Wayne County Emergency Management said that an EF1 tornado touched down from 8:55pm to 8:59pm.

The maximum wind was clocked at 105 mph, it had a max width of 200 feet, and traveled for 2.24 miles

No injuries were reported; however, two barns were destroyed and roof damage was observed for a couple of other barns and a storage shelter. Other damage included trees snapped or uprooted.
