Nick McWilliams reporting – Ohio hunters had another successful deer hunting season, calling off muzzleloader season on Tuesday.

In total, just over 13,500 deer were harvested by hunters over the four-day season, which includes the ongoing archery season.

Coshocton was the top grossing county with 518, followed by Muskingum with 468, and Tuscarawas at 452.

The mark for Coshocton was 29 more than were harvested in 2022.

A quarter of the deer harvested were bucks, with over 8,400 does tagged by hunters from Ohio and beyond.

Just under 111,000 deer have been taken by gun hunters, with over 90,000 by archery through Tuesday.

The combined totals represent the first time ever that Ohio hunters have harvested more than 200,000 in a year.
