Nick McWilliams reporting – The Tuscarawas Valley Film Festival called off 2022 with a sizable donation to a non-profit which mentors youths in the community.

The group issued a $2,000 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Ohio.

Ending its fifth year of existence, the festival was formed to highlight local film producers, directors, and productions that do not make it to the big screen.

The board for the festival is comprised of Jim Boose, Laura Bowe, Mike Ernest, Gerald Latanich, Stephanie Price, and Jennifer and Ty Simmelink.

For the East Central branch of BBBS, which has operated since 1973, the funds will be used to assist with mentoring opportunities in the community and in local school districts in Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties.
