Mary Alice Reporting – Original host of One Tank Trips, Neil Zurcher, is set to speak about his latest book this Thursday.

Ten Ohio Disasters: Stories of Tragedy and Courage that Should Not be Forgotten will look into the state’s past of tragedy and inspiring examples of heroism.

The book looks at events like the devastating Xenia tornado, the sudden Silver Bridge collapse, the Blizzard of ’78, a deadly stampede at a Who concert in Cincinnati, an ill-fated parachute jump, the Fitchville nursing home fire, and others.

Over the course of his career, Zurcher logged more than a million miles on Ohio’s roads over 25 years as a TV travel reporter, writing about travel in AAA Ohio Motorist Magazine and the Plain Dealer. He has also received numerous awards and has been inducted into the Cleveland Press Club Hall of Fame, the Ohio Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and received their living legacy award.

This latest book is among others that relate Ohio’s curious attractions, strange tales, true stories, and getaway ideas.

Zurcher will be at Dover Library on June 30th to talk about the latest book, starting at 6:30 pm.
