Nick McWilliams reporting – A pair of pursuits by the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office led to two arrests.

According to sheriff’s reports, the first pursuit began just before 1 a.m. Wednesday, when deputies and the Uhrichsville Police Department attempted a traffic stop on Dylan Peck.

Peck, who was a potential suspect on an aggravated menacing case, fled from the scene on Jaycee Drive, leading both agencies, along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, on a pursuit.

The chase lasted to Packer Street, after units deployed spike strips.

Peck fled on foot but was later taken into custody at a home on Superior Road.

Later in the morning, just before 8 a.m., a vehicle reported stolen was seen by deputies in New Zoarville.

The driver, later identified as 24-year-old Cody Nitz from Canton, did not comply with a traffic stop, and reportedly rammed a deputy’s vehicle.

After exiting the vehicle, Nitz was taken into custody following a foot pursuit, then to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital for medical clearance.

He was taken to the Tuscarawas County Justice Center, facing charges of fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, assault, and receiving stolen property.
