Nick McWilliams reporting – Work wrapped up quicker than expected at the Uhrichsville Water Park, setting up their opening days this past weekend.

The park opened on Saturday from the Memorial Day Weekend, with summer hours from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mayor Mark Haney relayed to council prior to that opening that some refurbishing work had wrapped up quickly, with residents welcomed in to a clean and revamped recreational space.

“The slides look good. Baynum [Painting Incorporated] was in and they were out in a timely manner. They were out before we thought they would be. And we were able to start filling. I’m sure we flushed all the lines on the north end of Uhrichsville. Everybody will have cleaner water, because we saw all the dirt and rust.”

A pump seal failed during the refilling process, but Haney said that the issue will be resolved in short order, with no issues expected in terms of the parks operation.

Rates this year for the Water Park are $7 for a daily pass for 17 and under, $10 for 18 and up, and $5 for seniors 62 and up.
