Nick McWilliams reporting – A local Lions Club is holding a blood drive to help those in need of lifesaving transfusions.

On May 19th from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the Warwick Lions will host the drive, which will be carried out by Vitalant.

Interested residents can visit the Tuscarawas Community Center on Cherry Street during the specified times to donate.

Appointments can be made online at www.vitalant.org/OhioDonorPortal using the group code 4931.

Visitors are asked to bring a photo ID and a list of all medications taken, with all asked to eat prior to donating.

Those who donate will be notified if they test positive for COVID-19 antibodies, with plasma from those donations an effective method to treatment for those with weakened immune systems.
