Nick McWilliams reporting – United Way of Tuscarawas County is once again offering a helping hand with free tax preparation starting in February.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program provides free tax preparation clinics to area households that fall below a $60,000 income.
The service can help residents avoid high costs related to tax filing, which can run around $270 depending on the type of return filed and household income.
Internal Revenue Service-certified volunteers will be on hand to prepare residents’ tax returns via drop-off and appointment.
Appointments are available at Dover Phila Federal Credit Union in Dover, and the branch location in Newcomerstown.
