Walter L. Burton 85, of Zoarville, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Park Village South in New Philadelphia. Born November 9, 1935, in Salyersville, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Henry and Clarris (Holbrook) Burton.

He retired in 1996 as a millwright at the former Reeves Steel Company in Dover after 30 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the New Philadelphia V.F.W. and the Carrollton Masonic Lodge. Walt enjoyed flying and has owned 3 planes over the years. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his wife the former Donna Daniels on May 13, 2001. Surviving are 2 children Jeff (Susan) Burton and Marsha (Thomas) Sizemore, both of Somerdale; 3 grandchildren Kristin (Ben) Muzechuk, Nathan Ritenour, and Jacob (Whitney) Burton; great-grandchildren Donna, Lidia, Easton, and twins due in September; 2 brothers J.C. Burton of Zoarville, Jerry (Brenda) Burton of Mineral City and a sister Betty (Wes) Cox of Dover.

Family graveside services will be held at New Cumberland Cemetery with Pastor John Dunn officiating. The Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar is handling the arrangements.
