Nick McWilliams reporting – Uhrichsville crews were delayed on a street project due to an equipment failure.

Mayor Mark Haney updated council on work that started on 11th Street related to upgrades to the storm water system in the area.

However, work was pushed back slightly due to an issue with the cutting of the pipe, forcing the city to wait for a replacement.

“The service department has begun its work on East 11th Street with the storm sewer and water extension. The plan is to cut it and complete the cut on Uhrich [Street] so they can lay the asphalt there. The rental saw blade failed. So we’re waiting to get another one, and I believe they aren’t charging us while we are waiting. And we’ll be back on East 11th [this] week.”

In the meantime, crews were directed to the McConnell Street area, and have been working to patch alleyways.

In other service-related news, the full paving list from Haney has been submitted to Tuscarawas County Engineer Joe Bachman, and includes Newport Avenue from Trenton to Holiday Avenues, the Uhrichsville-owned portion of Indian Hill Road, and East High from South Water to South Uhrich Street.
