Beryl E. Biechler, 86, of Strasburg, died on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Country Club Retirement Center in Dover following a sudden illness.
Beryl was born on February 10, 1937, in Marietta, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late John and Carrie (Moore) Koon. She graduated from East Sparta High School with the class of 1951.
She married Carl “Frosty” Biechler on October 20, 1951. Frosty preceded her in death on August 30, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Carrie “Dixie” Biechler, and her sister, Lucille (Bill) Fiddler.
Beryl was an active member of the First Assembly of God in New Philadelphia where she taught Sunday School, was the Sunday School Secretary for over 44 years and played the french horn in the church orchestra. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts, and was an avid reader. She learned to read at the young age of three. She loved sitting on her front porch swing, taking rides with her son, Barry, and enjoyed watching Fox News and Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Barry Biechler of Strasburg; and her sisters-in-law, Geraldine Bonheimer of New Philadelphia, and Betty Bissel of Hillsdale, MI; along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to gather at the LifeWay Church in New Philadelphia on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. A celebration of Beryl’s life will be held at 12:30 with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg.
