Dover Police on Sunday afternoon arrested a 20-year-old man who allegedly stole a vacuum cleaner and other items from Ollie’s Bargain Outlet on Union Avenue.
The initial call at about 1:25 p.m. said the 20-year-old put the items in the back of a truck driven by an older man. Police found that truck nearby at Giant Eagle then reported the younger man ran into the woods.
New Philadelphia Police apprehended him on the other side of the woods and brought him back to Dover police, who arrested him and identified the man as Aydon Cerana of New Philadelphia.
He was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of theft and obstructing official business this morning. He pleaded not guilty and was in the Tuscarawas County Jail with bail set at $500.
Police say the case remains under investigation and only one person was arrested. The police report identified the vacuum as an SV60 Cordless Stick Vacuum that sells for about $80.
