Sunday evening a new king and queen officially began their duties as presiding royalty at the Tuscarawas County Fair.
Contestants for king were Colton Domer, Robbie Jones, and William “Drew” Long. Vying for the queen position included Maggie Hamilton, Cassie Miceli, Kylee Mutti, Norah Randolph, and Emily Zurfly.
Domer, a 16-year-old from Garaway High School, says he was surprised to be crowned king and knew it would be a tough decision for the judges. Domer adds as part of a legacy, he’s ready to represent the county.
“I have my father and brother as kings before. Getting to know new people and express our fair and how we like it.”
His father, Michael, was fair king in 1997 and his brother, Jonathan, reigned in 2023.
Crowned as queen is Hamilton. She’s an 18-year-old from Bolivar and attends Kent State University. She says she ready to be a Tuscarawas County representative.
“Grow with others, meet new people, and travel to new places. I’m so excited for this opportunity and thanks everyone, and I’m excited to represent on a bigger level.”
Hamilton and Domer take over for 2024’s royalty, Morgan Miller and Jacob Wisselgren.
