Dover won’t have new pickle ball courts for the start of summer, but Mayor Shane Gunnoe believes they’ll be under construction sometime this year.

Gunnoe on Monday outlined the city’s plan to spend 255-thousand dollars to build four new pickle ball courts at the city park this year.

Gunnoe hopes City Council will approve the project in May so he can award a contract in June and have the work start soon after that.

City officials also hope to build a splash pad at the pool and resurface the playground at the city park over the next two years.

Meanwhile, the city is accepting registration for the Canal Dover Festival parade. It’s at noon on Saturday, May 25th . Registration forms are on the city’s website. The Canal Dover Festival will be Memorial Day weekend May 24th through May 26th.
