A New Philadelphia woman will serve 10 years to life in prison for rape and gross sexual imposition.

38-year-old Jessica Rohr received the punishment earlier Wednesday when she appeared before Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Court judge Elizabeth Thomakos.

“I am selecting, and it is a mandatory term, 10 years to life on counts one, two, and three, which would be served concurrently; as well as, 24-months on the felony of the third degree, also concurrent.”

Assistant county prosecutor Fred Scott says the charges arose from a separate child sex abuse case involving the same victim, who later came forward with additional information.

Rohr spent three years behind bars for child endangerment and had been staying at a sober living house in Akron since her release.

She regretted becoming involved with her co-defendant in that case, 63-year-old Jeffrey Brady, who’s serving life in prison with parole eligibility in 2040.

“I’ve been working so hard to get my life together, your honor. I work every day, i go to AA meetings, I just made the wrong mistakes with the wrong people.”

Rohr will be on parole for five years after getting back out of prison and is required to register for the rest of her life as a Tier 3 sex offender.
