A Gnadenhutten man with a lifetime driver’s license suspension for past drunk driving convictions was charged with OVI again two weeks ago.

State Highway Patrol Sergeant William Bower says 59-year-old Arthur L. Everett Junior has 10 previous OVI convictions. On Monday, September 28th at 8 p.m., the State Highway Patrol alleges Everett was drinking and driving again, this time on East Main Street in Gnadenhutten, where he hit a mailbox and left the scene. Bower says witnesses helped Troopers identify Everett, and he was issued a citation at his home a short while later.

Everett, who is now in the Tuscarawas County Jail, has a pretrial hearing scheduled for October 21st in Southern District Court. Bower says he will likely be indicted by the grand jury on felony charges.

Everett already has a lifetime driver’s license suspension which he received in 2008 after an OVI conviction. At the time, Everett was six years into a 25-year driver’s license suspension from a previous OVI conviction.

The State Highway Patrol encourages the public to call #677 or 911 to report impaired drivers and drug activity.
