Mary Alice Reporting – This Saturday marks the season opener for the Midvale Speedway and its 70 anniversary.

The year is opening a week earlier; however, for this Saturday’s events, it will be a non-points race, and the regular season gets underway the following week.

Racing starts at Thunder in the Valley at 5:30pm, but ahead of that, the pits open at noon, practice and qualifying runs from 2pm to 4:30pm, and the grandstands open at 3pm.

Pits Admission is $35 for those 12 years and up, ages 4 to11 with paid adult $20, and ages three and under is free with a paid adult.

Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, seniors, 62 and up, are $10, students, 14 to 17 years old, are $10, those ages 6 to 13 are $8, and kids 5 and under are free.

The tentative schedule for Saturday is late model, open modified, compact, modified, street stock, and mini truck. New for Midvale Speedway will be the top four finishers, in the B-Main, going into the Fast Feature.

As a reminder, in the grandstands, the first section of seating closest to Turn 1 is designated for families and handicap accessible, which means no smoking or drinking.
