Thomas Dix “Tom” Finnie, 57, of Dover passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at The Ohio State University James Cancer Center in Columbus following a long battle with cancer.

Born on December 5, 1963, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Dix and Helen (Belloma) Finnie. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Davey Birney.

Tom graduated from Jewett Scio High School and received his bachelor’s degree in Business from Heidelberg College. Tom worked in Sales at Heidelberg Distributing for over 19 years before retiring.

He attended NewPointe Community Church in Dover. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Harkleroad) Finnie, who he married on January 18, 1997. He also leaves behind his four children; Dustin Maxwell of Newcomerstown, Katrina Maxwell of Uhrichsville, Jacob Finnie of Columbus, and Matthew Finnie of Dover; his sister, Karen (Ed) Hevaner of Tappan Lake; along with 9 grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 5-7 pm. A graveside service will take place at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Scio on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 11:00 am with Pastor Dave VanDonge officiating.
