Glen E. Bleininger, age 72, of Dover, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, March 30, 2022, peacefully, in his sleep.

Born July 2, 1949, in Dover, Glen was a son of the late Ervin and Bessie Metzger Bleininger. He graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1969, and, on July 6 of that year, married the former Beth V. Harmon, who survives. Glen enjoyed work; he was currently a maintenance supervisor for Miller Studio of New Philadelphia, where he had been employed for 53 years. He was also currently a part-time custodian for St. John’s United Church of Christ in Dover, where he had been for 25 years. Glen was certainly a jack of all trades; there was almost nothing he could not fix – from the mechanical to plumbing, to heating and cooling, to electrical work, whatever the problem was – he was willing to lend his expertise to help out his employers, family, and friends.

He was a loving, devoted family man, as well as a long-time member of the Dover Alliance Church, where he served as trustee, usher – and sometimes a fix-it person.

Glen will be dearly missed by his wife, Beth; his children, Michelle (Matthew) Beaber of Sugarcreek, and Brian Bleininger of Dover; his grandchildren – who lovingly referred to him as PaPa, Caleb Septer, Jacob ((Hannah) Burns, Justin Beaber, Kathryn and Rachel Bleininger; his siblings, Betty Kaser, Donna Fox, Annamae Ribet, Wayne, Richard and Lloyd Bleininger; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Arno and Jayne, Dan and Kay, Van and Sheila, and Zan and Linda Harmon; and his many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his siblings, Agnes Penrod, and Raymond and Robert Bleininger; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell and Vivian Harmon – he was their favorite, and only, son-in-law.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Sunday, April 3, 2 – 5 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 4, at 11 a.m., in the Dover Alliance Church; Pastors Bruce Sexton and Richard Rose will officiate. Burial will be in Dover’s Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Following the committal, there will be a lunch in the church’s fellowship hall.

The family suggests that contributions in Glen’s memory be made to the Dover Alliance Church, 228 E. Third St., Dover, OH 44662
