Nick McWilliams reporting – Long-time council member and current council president for Dover Shane Gunnoe will serve as mayor in the interim.
Gunnoe was selected as one of two candidates to serve as the interim mayor by a committee formed by Tuscarawas County Probate Judge Adam Wilgus.
After the committee selected the two most qualified candidates, Wilgus ultimately picked Gunnoe, who he felt was the best fit currently.
Dover Mayor Richard Homrighausen is currently under suspension by the Ohio Supreme Court and is awaiting trial in criminal cases before the Tuscarawas County Court of Common Pleas.
