Phillip “Rail” Lundenberger 73, of Bolivar, died Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Truman House in New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.  Born September 12, 1949, in Dover, he was a son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth (Huffman) Lundenberger.  

He was a machinist for many years at Myers Machining in Bolivar then retired in 2018 as a machinist at Fisher Electric in New Philadelphia.  He was a 1967 graduate of  Tusky Valley High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  Phillip was an active member of the Bolivar American Legion Post 190, a member of the Bolivar Army Navy Club, and the Bolivar Sportsman’s Club.  He enjoyed motorcycles and entertaining friends and family with his accordion and he learned to Tap Dance at the age of 50.  For many years he was proud to read the names of fallen soldiers from Tuscarawas County each year at Memorial Day services.   

Phillip is survived by 2 children Kenneth E. (Lisa R.) Amos of St. Pete Beach, Florida, and Kimberly A. (William) Cummings of Brooklyn, Ohio; 6 grandchildren Chase E. Hiple, Hannah J. Schramm, Makenna A. Amos, Riley E. Cummings Regan M. Cummings and Morgan A. Cummings; a special friend Betty Mann of Dover and many nieces, nephews, and friends.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers Maurice Lundenberger and Lee Lundenberger.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar.  Pastor Jeff Shultz will officiate and the Bolivar American Legion will conduct military honors at Fort Laurens Cemetery immediately following services.  Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
