Larry E. Demuth, 83, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully, in his home on Tuesday evening, March 14, 2023, after a period of declining health.
Born at Dennison, Larry was the son of the late Ralph and Martha (Treacle) Demuth and had worked as a Maintenance Tech for a number of local manufacturers before retiring from Meteor Sealing Systems at Dover. Larry also prepared cemetery sites for burials for 13 different cemeteries over a period spanning 50 years.
On November 1, 1958, Larry married the former Judy Abbuhl with whom he enjoyed over 64 years of marriage. Together, they raised four children; Kathy (Bob) Dorsey of Port Washington, Hester (Jim) Colwell of New Philadelphia, Becky Koile and Gary Koile of New Philadelphia and Stan (Decina) Demuth of Rye, Colorado, They were also blessed with 17 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, a Great-Great Granddaughter and are expecting a Great-Great Grandson in August.
Also surviving is a brother, Ralph Demuth of Port Washington; two sisters, Anna (Warren) Keith of Beach City and Mary Shull of Gnadenhutten; his sister-in-law, Karen (Marsha) Abbuhl of Columbus; his brother-in-law, Ken (Linda) Abbuhl of New Philadelphia; many nieces and nephews; his two dogs, Ginger and Sandy and many cats.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Christine Ethel Demuth; an infant Great Grandson, Bryce Koile, his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Glenn, and Hester Abbuhl; two brothers, Fred Demuth and Tom Demuth; his brother-in-law, Gary Abbuhl and his best friends, Dud Andreas and Bill and Nancy Sullivan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 1:30 to 2:30 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral home at New Philadelphia where Terry Pearson will officiate a service beginning at 2:30 PM, in the funeral home chapel. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
