Mary Alice Reporting –

~ Bakery Barn is recalling its Naturally Sweetened Granola, manufactured for Tried and True Granola Co., packaged in 14 oz. plastic containers and 20 lb. bulk cases, due to an undeclared milk allergen.

The product was available from 7/30/2019-3/23/2023 to distributors at Walnut Creek Foods in Millersburg, as well as in Gordonville and Myerstown, Pennsylvania, and in Georgetown, Ohio.

There have been no reports of illness involving the product addressed in this recall, however, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

~ Over 200 Buckeye Career Center students saw first-hand what can happen when an everyday object comes in contact with a live power line or power pole, thanks to AEP Ohio’s Spark Force One mobile safety awareness trailer.

Two demonstrations included the feature of miniature power poles, live wires, and a transformer, in addition to a mini car, a squirrel and other items that can disrupt power or pose a safety threat when confronted with electricity. A portion of the presentation showcased how a lineman’s safety gear and fire-retardant clothing helps protect them from electricity. Additional scenarios demonstrated what can happen when a car hits a pole and how motorists can safely exit a vehicle that has encountered a live wire.
