Mary Alice reporting – The trial date for a woman facing multiple counts involving a minor was continued.

A court hearing was held Tuesday morning related to the jury trial for Erica Blakely.

She is facing counts of rape, gross sexual imposition, and other charges.

At the Tuscarawas Common Pleas hearing, defense Attorney Anthony Koukoutas had submitted a request to bump the May 3rd jury trial date due to another court matter, as was noted by Judge Michael Ernest.

“I have in front of me a motion that was filed by your attorney and he is indicating that he will be starting a jury trial on April 26th before Judge Elizabeth Thomakos. He anticipates the trial will last two days, meaning he will not have enough time to properly prepare for this trial.”

The judge agreed to move the trial date for Blakely but it has not yet been scheduled.

She is facing one first-degree felony for the rape count, two third-degree felonies for sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and a fifth-degree felony for importuning.
