Mary Alice Reporting – Woodstock, murder, and UFO sightings will be some of the topics during a five-part series featuring historical events, some specific to Tuscarawas County.

The New Philadelphia library is hosting the “Stories from the Past: Living History” series with local actor Chris Hart and local historian Noel Porier.

It kicks off on June 6th with a presentation about Betsy Ross and her life with her third husband, John Claypoole.

Next up, Porier discusses local documented UFO sighting during the 1950’s and 1960’s. This presentation will be on June 21st.

On July 20th, recount a murder that took place in Tuscarawas County during the winter of 1934, titled Dover’s Torch Murder.

Coming up on July 25th, Hart hosts a program talking about the Civil War and odd events and coincidences that occurred over this four-year battle, including strange deaths, chance meetings, and unsolved mysteries.

The series wraps up on August 20th with a portrayal of a man who leased his dairy farm to the 1969 Woodstock Festival.
