News Brief: OWDA Funds for County, PAC Season Unveiling, New Library Book Clubs

~ Tuscarawas County has been awarded funding through the Ohio Water Development Authority (OWDA). Overall, they handed out $27 million through low interest loans to Ohio communities to improve wastewater and drinking water infrastructure. The county is receiving $66,400 at 3.86%, for five years, for the design of 10,600 feet of waterline to extend service to 23 residential users along Hardy, Amber, Stingy, and Woodland Streets.

~ This Saturday, the Performing Arts Center at Kent State University will host an unveiling event for their 13^th season. The evening begins at 7pm and once the show listing has been viewed, a reception will follow in the lobby.

For PAC member, the event is free. A livestream announcement will be available on the theatre’s website, www.kent.edu/tuscpac. The deadline to purchase a membership to attend this weekend’s event has passed; however, the different membership levels are still available to enjoy other included benefits such as a pre-sale period.

~ The Tuscarawas County Public Library System is adding four new book clubs this summer in addition to its eight established book discussions. Groups meet monthly to discuss a pre-selected title and the gathering last about an hour.

The main library’s New Philadelphia location will host the Banned, It Screams Vintage, and Hopeless Romantic book clubs. The Murder Mystery club will be at the Sugarcreek branch.
