Mary Alice Reporting – There’s still time to submit an application for age eligible students to attend a manufacturing camp.

The 2023 Tuscarawas County Dale Foland Manufacturing Camp will be held July 17th – 19th, but the application is due by Friday, June 16th.

These camps started under the leadership of United States Senator Sherrod Brown, who says the program has expanded across the Ohio.

“First one of these, in 2013 I think, was in Youngstown. We’ve now had over one hundred of these manufacturing camps. We know that manufacturing is the past, the present, and the future, and they’re working. We’re getting great interest from local communities and we’ll continue to build on it.”

The camp allows attended, 7th and 8th graders, the opportunity to explore Tuscarawas County manufacturing facilities, build something with hands-on activities, develop a new skill, and create imagination.

The cost to attend is $50 per student and the camp will be held for the three days at Buckeye Career Center, in New Philadelphia, from 8am to 3pm.
