Mary Alice Reporting – A food safety alert was issued for select packages of frozen fruit.
The voluntarily recall was issued by Willamette Valley Fruit Company for the Great Value brand of slice strawberries, mixed fruit, and the antioxidant fruit blend.
They were sold at Walmart locations, including in Ohio, from January 24, 2023 to June 8, 2023.
These are labeled as ‘products of Mexico’ and the alert is due to the potential for Hepatitis A contamination. There have been no illnesses associated with this recall.
Hepatitis A is a contagious liver disease that results from exposure to the Hepatitis A virus, including from food.
