Mary Alice Reporting – This is enshrinement week at the Football Hall of Fame, in Canton, and that means more motorists will be on the road.
With various activities planned and local or out of town travelers coming to Stark County, the Ohio Department of Transportation is reminding drivers to plan ahead and prepare for delays.
District 4 Public Information Officer Ray Marsch says patience will be key for those looking to attend a HOF event and for those driving in the general vicinity of Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
“Please check out OHGO.com. We have live traffic cameras along I-77 so you’ll be able to view your route as you’re going into the Hall of Fame and you’ll be able to see what traffic’s like that way you can prepare yourself.”
Marsch adds that construction has cleared up on Interstate 77, but there is one area that could cause a back-up situation.
“Our I-77, US 30 interchange project, all those ramps opened last month. There will be a lane restriction on I-77 southbound, at US 30, for bridge work that’s going on right there, but really there are not that many closure that will impact your route to the Hall of Fame festivities.”
Fans are expected to come out to the weeklong event to see and interact with more than 100 Hall of Famers to kick off the National Football League’s 104th season. The 2023 enshrinement wraps up Sunday and more details about the schedule or map can be found at www.profootballhof.com.
