News Brief: Petco to Open, Field Renovations in Dover, Haircuts for Kids

~ A new pet stores is set to open in the City of New Philadelphia. Construction has been ongoing on Bluebell Drive NW, on the land between Walmart and Menards. An open house is planned for Saturday, August 19^th, from 10am to 3pm. Food, music, games, and more will be available for attendees and they ask pet owners to bring their furry friends.

~ Starting on this Monday, the Dover City Parks and Recreation Department will begin renovations on fields # 1, 5, 6 and 8. The fields will be closed from now until spring and was planned in conjunction with the Dover baseball and softball leagues. Once the field renovations are complete, it will settle and the contractor will return in the spring to conduct final touch ups.

~ A Newcomerstown business is offering a free haircut for youth. The event, on Saturday, August 12^th, is hosted by The Vault Beauty Lounge and is for kids ages 12 and under. Free hot dogs and school supplies will also be available, on a first come-first service basis. The event, at 1011 W. State Street, will be held from 11am to 2pm. Additionally, the business is offering, until August 11^th, $10 haircuts for kids in grades kindergarten through 12^th. For more details, call 740-492-4151.
