Mary Alice Reporting –

Tusc Against Trafficking is promoting their new initiative of “Blessing Boxes” which are currently in four locations.

The goal is to close the gap in the Tuscarawas County related to ways individuals can access hygiene and cleaning supplies.

Community Engagement Coordinator Kristi Campbell says the established boxes have already proved to be a success.

“We started by putting things like toothpaste, deodorant, body wash [and other] smaller items, and every time I would go back they we’re gone, which showed that there was a need for them.”

Currently, the containers are placed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dover, New Philadelphia Nazarene Church, in the back of the Tuscarawas County Public Library’s main location, and one is in front of the Salvation Army.

In an effort to expand the Blessing Boxes for county-wide access, Campbell adds that they are asking community organizations to adopt-a-box. Anyone interested in sponsoring a box can contact Campbell through email at kcampbellmeiser@compassraoecrisis.org or by calling 330-339-2504

In addition, she notes that they are always looking for product donations, which can be dropped off at any branch of the Tuscarawas Public Library system.
