David Warther Carvings will hold the annual Museum Day Live event, despite Smithsonian Magazine’s pause on sponsorship.

Museum Day Live is an annual event held in September, where nationwide, museums offer free attendance.

David Warther says the discontinued sponsorship for the year will not stop the museum from giving out free tours.

“This year, the Smithsonian actually paused the program, and we’re not sure why, but they paused it for the year 2023. So we decided to go ahead with it anyway.”

Free tours will be offered to the public from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, September 16th.

“Folks can show up at any time and they would get a complete tour. [It would] be kind of a hop-on-hop-off type tour. You could come at any time and join in with the existing tour and then the next tour would catch up on what you may have missed.”
