Robert A. “Bob” Luthy, 85, of Dover went to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Community Hospice Truman House. He was born on February 14, 1938, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Donald and Sylvia (Pietro) Luthy.

Bob had a remarkable career, dedicating 32 years of service to Reeves Steel as an electrician. His commitment and hard work left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the company. Bob’s time at Reeves Steel is a testament to his strong work ethic and dedication.

A Navy veteran, Bob served his country with honor. His time in the military shaped him into a disciplined individual who carried those values throughout his life.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bob was known for his vibrant personality and zest for life. An avid golfer, he found great joy in spending time on the golf course perfecting his swing. Bob’s love for travel led him and his cherished wife Judy on memorable journeys across all 50 states, as well as, many countries. Family was of utmost importance to Bob. He adored his wife Judith A. (Stringer) Luthy, whom he married on March 7, 1980. Their union was one built on love and companionship that endured through the years.

Bob will be dearly missed by his children: Vicki (Doug) Tom of Hawaii, Jane (Bruce) Clay of Dover, Jeff (Kirsten) Smitley of Dover, Teresa (David) Foley of Senecaville, and Sue Rini of Dover. He was a loving brother to Eugene Luthy of Dover; Arlene (William) Uptegraph of New Philadelphia; and Donna Kay (Roy) Trimmer of Pennsylvania. Bob also leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren—11 in total—and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Seth Rummes; and brother, Richard “Dick” Luthy.

Bob’s life will be celebrated at Riverside Community Church, located at 2201 Progress St., Dover, OH 44622.
